Being too busy and lazy to blog these few days, Hahaha!

I have being so excited the past few days as I have sold my Nikon D70s body for $500 and reading on reviews and research on which camera to upgrade to.

The first camera which came into my mind is D90. But after doing the research, I change my mind and stretch my budget to D300. The major reason is that D300 is faster, have environmental sealing, faster startup and AF, better metering and WB control, and I dont need HD video function in DSLR. Below is a very good video for those people who having dilemma on D90 and D300. 4 more days to my D300. Yeah!

My Macro Visit to Botanic Garden

Went to Botanic Garden with Dear last Saturday for photography outing. We reached there around 3pm. The sunlight is just nice for photography, not too harsh.

The day before saturday, I've bought Dear a Panasonic LX3 for her 21st birthday. Wanted to buy P6000 at first, but changed our mind after the sales person present us the LX3. Sad to say, Nikon's P6000 is not capable enough to out stand LX3, I said this even I am a true Nikonian. Let me analyze the reasons why:

1.) Size -> LX3 is so much smaller and slicker than P6000, with its small size, weight is lighter, and hence, more convenient to bring about, especially for girls. Despite it's small size, it's capability is similar or slightly better than P6000, as it has Smart AI mode.

2.) Design -> LX3 has a nicer appearance, it looks more stylish. P6000 looks bulkier, a little bit of old fashion look, quite plastic feel. Below pictures for your reference.

3.) Image quality -> Image produced by Leica lens is indeed very sharp. I was so shocked when i used LX3 to take a macro shot, the result really stunned me, and caused me to change my mind to purchase LX3 instead.

4.)Made in Japan -> LX3 is made in Japan, whereby P6000 is made in China.

After much consideration, we have bought LX3. I hope dear will love it. =)

Back to the visit to Botanic Garden, it was my first outdoor macro shooting. I'm quite happy with the results, eventhough after more than 100 over pics i took, only less than 10 is presentable. Below are the photos, so please seat back and relax. =)

Yohooo.... I spent another $250 today!!

This is what I've bought today:

Raynox CM-2000
- DCR-150
- DCR-250
- 1x Lense Adaptor Ring
- 2x Adaptor

For those who don't know what are these, these are actually macro magnifying lenses which help normal lense to take picture like a macro lense. Well, a macro lens will cost more than $600. But with this, I am using 50mm prime lens = $90 (2nd hand) and Raynox CM-2000 ($250). For saving more than half of the price and I can get the same result of macro lense.

Handsome Suit

Have any one watched Handsome Suit? I went to watch it yesterday with my dear. It was a very good comedy show.

Well, is look really so important? Do you often judge people by their look at first? Well, I believe it will ended too much debate over this topic, nonetheless, I would comment that this is a nice show, main acter is cute (the fat one, look like Crayon Shinchan) and handsome (after wearing the handsome suit). And the main actress, named Hiroko in the show is also pretty. Went to google her information, and found out her real name is Kitagawa Keiko. Cool. :) Below are her pics. :)

Is Bike Cheap to Maintain???

Sent my Honda Phantom TA200 for repair today due to suspension leakage. My front brake is affected as the oil leaked onto the rotor and brake pad causing it to unable to brake properly. hence, no choice has to send for repair.

Total Repair Cost: SGD$ 310

Bike is not that cheap too har~!

Lesson learnt: Be mentally prepared to spend more on maintenance fee when gotten a second hand bike!

Suspension forks have been removed from my bike for servicing.

For those who don't know what is suspension fork, this is how it looks like.

This corrosion suspected to be the root cause of oil leakage. One pair of this metal pole cost SGD $190 (2 x $95)!!!

The rusted inner rings need to be replaced as well, 1 pair costs USD $20!!

This new fork pole is slightly longer.

Fork Oil

Insertion of fork oil, both sides have to be equal amount, else 1 side will be harder and another will be softer.

My front tire is wearing off and has to be replaced soon. It will cost me another SGD $45 next month. Currently my front brake is still not fully functionable, if oil doesn't dry off from the pad, most likely I have to change the pads next month too, and it will cost another SGD $50. Who says bike is cheap to maintain?

13th Oct 2007 - Suntec City

Today my dear and I meeting Ang and Jessica go Suntec City walk walk. While waiting for Ang's car to arrive, me and dear took some pic of ourselves.

11th Oct 2007 - Meet Sean and his Chihuahuas

Today I went out with my buddy Sean. We ate our lunch at a hawker center in Marine Parade, and we went to play pool. Funny rules we have here, winner racks the ball, haha, end up no one feel like winning. =D

Soon after that, I accompanied him to his gf house to pick up his 2 cute little chihuahuas. The 2 chihuahuas are so cute and adorable. They are my dream dogs. Hehe. I want to save money to buy 2 of them too! So cute! I recorded them using my hp. Hehe.

We have to put them in bags cuz we are going to take bus back home. They might feel some uncomfortable but no choice, they just have to bear it for awhile.

10th Oct 2007 - Last Day in Hendon Camp

Today is my last day in Hendon, I'll will clearing leaves from 11th Oct to 19th Oct. And my BMT will starts on 22nd Oct. It's so sad to leave Hendon so early. I've slacked in the office for half a day cuz my boss is not around in the morning. I also have a last group photography session with my camp mates inside Log Office.

Today is my 2nd last day in Hendon camp. I will be going to BMT Recourse on 22nd Oct and POP and ORD on the same time in 7th Dec.

How do I feel now? Well, seriously I quite looking forward to BMT lifestyle, cuz can do lotsa physical training, and time will pass alot faster. But in my heart, I still have a very funny feeling, sudden of loneliness, or sadness I can say. Think I am going to miss my camp mates here, it's like really so sad, cuz I always tot that I will leave this camp on 7th Dec not 22nd Oct. Its like 2 months in advance. Well, thing had already occurred, so no point looking backward already. What I am going to do now is to enjoy my coming BMT life.

Today so happy cuz I took some pics with my best camp mates. Well guys, if your are reading this post, I'm going to tell you guys that you all will be always be in my heart! Cheer for our brotherhood! Yeah!

28th September 2007 (Friday)

Today is a very good day. Cuz my boss is not around. When he is not around, the whole unit will be so peaceful and quiet, there will be no shoutings and scoldings. No one will feel stress, and also, no one will follows rules. LOL. Here are some very good examples:

Alex on the right (current CQMS), and Ang (future CQMS), are both playing games in the office. CQMS is so called the supervisor of the storeman. This is how they lead a good examples, Cheer for them! =D

Ang playing mahjong games on CPU. And they even ignores me when i took their pics. =D

Alex playing snooker game in Crispin's PSP. Totally heck care me sia. =P

This is Crispin. One of the storeman here. He slacked till bored so he came into the office for nice cooling air con. And this is his first time looking so small in picture =P

After camp, I joined my cycling gang for half island. Today's ride is not tiring. Quite a slow pace. at around 30km/hr. We start from East Coast Park > Ubi> Hougang > Seng Kang > Punggol > Jalan Kayu > Seng Kang > Hougang > Old Tampines Road > Tampines

This is at one of the coffee house in Jalan Kayu. We got 9 riders today, so 9 bikes here =D

Here's some more updates of my Africa trip. I lived in the bunk of Tempe camp. We were assigned to 2 people in one bunk. So I shared the bunk with my buddy Ang. The bunk is simple, square type, 2 beds, 2 chairs and 1 table. Bathroom has two door and was shared among 2 bunk rooms.

This is my buddy, Ang, the room in the third floor where he was pointing at, it's our bunk room. =D From his attire, you should know that it's so cold in the night. Temperature can fall to -6 degree Celsius at night. Shocked to hear that South Africa is cold?? Yeah! South has 4 seasons too. And some parts of South Africa, will suffered from cold front too.

See the car window in the morning 7am. Its frozen up. And the outdoor tap can't use due to water frozen up inside the pipe.

Look at these cuties. They lived near my bunk area. They loved to come out in the afternoon for suntanning. They are very shy, once they see people standing too close to them. They will hide back inside the boulder gap. I took these pictures inside the car. =D

This is a wood carving shop near my camp. They carved all sort of things, like, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, lions, and many more, from big to small.

These are the rural areas for those poor africans. Rubbish everywhere, Singapore is so much better.

6th of May, we visited the Bloemfontein Safari. Well, it's not the real safari that you normally see on TV, for this, the predators are kept in captivity. Only those herbivores were allowed to roam around.

As you can see from the pic, those fenced area is for the lions. From far, it looks like a path way. =D

Before our safari trip, we had a buffet lunch at the cottage hut, the above pic is their table setting. So nice!

This is my safari lunch! Yummy! Their African cuisine. =D~

Well, the first animal I saw in the Safari is this cute little bugga :

It's so cute la, I forgotten it's name already, but you can also see them in Singapore Zoological Garden. They dig hole and lived underground. And normally they will have one leader in their group, which will stand up and look at the surrounding for any predators.

Next, this is a kind of bok. Haha. Don't know the exact name too. It's looking at us. =D

In Africa, there will be giraffes! 1 big group of them roaming around the grassland.

Wow, this is a pair of loving white lion. See how close their relationship was. White lion aka albino lion, is a very rare species. And normally, they will be discriminated by other normal lions. Well, quite surprised that even animals also will racist =p

Well, actually there are more animals to shoot, but sad to say there are just too far away from me, and during that time, I do not have my 70-300mm lens with me, so, haiz =(

DROP ZONE AREA

Wow, it has been so long since I last update my blog! Well, I went to Australia for my camp Advanced Military FreeFall Course during last year May. This year May, I went to Bloemfontien, South Africa instead.

Yes, it's South Africa! Full of zebras, full of buffalos, full of animals! Exciting. Different living standard compare to Singapore. High crime rate. It's a totally new experiences. On the roadsides, can see young children begging for money, and also, ppl no money to rent store, so they just sell goods on the road, its so dangerous.

In Africa, there is some chinese restaurants, and it's quite near to my camp. Their beef noodle is so delicious! The beef is so soft and tender, the soup is so tasty! I nvr tried such beef noodle in Singapore before. So if you ask me what I missed most in Africa, I can tell you it's their beef noodle.

Windmill on Africa grassland, helps to pump water up to the water surface for animals to drink.

This pool of water is pumped up by the windmill. At night, animals will gather here to drink water.

Sometimes, I will be asked to help out in the parachute jumpers landing area, we called it dropzone area. The area there is very big and wide. Many nice scenaries as well.

Its been about a week. And my 1.5ft planted tank has shows some growth. Stop using Lushgro aqua and spent a total of $33 on 3 bottle of fertiliser; Seachem Excel $9, Seachem Flourish $15 and Seachem Trace $9. Heartaches, but it's alright, it can last for a few months. And i also change my dosing schedule. This is my current schedule :

Monday: Seachem Excel, Seachem Flourish
Tuesday: Seachem Excel, KNO3 + KH2PO4
Wednesday: Seachem Excel, Seachem Flourish
Thursday: Seachem Excel, KNO3 + KH2PO4, Seachem Trace

Yohoo~. It has been some time since i posted my last entry. Today, i was busy with my 3 fish tanks. I rescape 1 of my tank, and i convert it into a CO2 enriched planted tank, which means the plant will have a faster growth rate. Will post update regarding this tank. Below is the pic.

Today is a tiring day. Has to report to camp at 5am. After that before noon still had to carry rolls and rolls of canopy cloth to another store. When i say roll of cloth, i mean the roll is about 10kg.. at about my height! I think i carry about 20 of them? After lunch, still have to carry 160 pcs of blankets, bedsheet and pillow case, all thanks to the Basic Airborne Course! In the end, only 50 of them turned up, still have to carry back those extra blankets, bedsheets and pillow cases! Last but not least, still have to carry 4 whiteboards, 1 wooden shelf and 15 office chairs to dump away. Shacked ah! My whole shirt was wet, and i mean real wet! But lucky i still know how to ku zhong zhuo le.. This is what i captured using my nokia 6230i.. Before check in to the airport, I accompanied my sergeant to go outside smoke (I'm a non-smoker please). At the taxi stand, i took a panning shot of a city cab. Outcome still not bad, just that the taxi is not sharp enough.

Things to do @ Changi airport custom, is to shop and shop and shop for all duty free products!

Yeah, And forget to add in, I bought my very first Digital SLR camera! *Claps and applauses* This wasnt the camera i intended to buy a month ago. But when i was in australia, i have being told that i should invest in a more complicated camera in order to learn new thing and i agreed. D70s is $400 expensive than D50. But i am lucky that when i bought it that time, the price had dropped by $100. And also they giving 2GB CF card and a nikon camera bag as a freebies. In the end, i spent a total of $2090 to get the camera and the accessories. So happy with my new toy. Also got 1 thing to clarify, I wanted to tell my baobei SYT, please dont compare yourself with camera. You should know that i love you! *cold*

Finally went back to singapore! Of cuz, brought back some good pictures too. Australia is a good country, not like singapore, so rush, so fast paced! Australians enjoy relaxing lives and slow paced working environment. So envious! And also, Unemployed Australians will still receive monthly umemployment pay. However, things in Australia may cost a bit expensive cuz of their high GST. Their income tax rate is high too. Maybe this is why Australians dont want to get employed! So sad, I spent 29 days in a small Parkes town and only 1 pathetic day in sydney. So many things yet so little time. But never mind! At least i'm back! Dont have to miss my bao bei everynight, so tired but still force myself to wait for her call =P Btw, I visited some places in australia which i think quite worthwhile. We visited Alpaca farm in forbes town(dont know what is alpaca? Its like a camel cross breed with sheep). We visited a cave but i forget the name *bish* We visited lavander farm and i bought a lavander chocolate bar for my baobei. And finally, on the way to sydney, we visited the australia's famous blue mountain. The mountain is very misty, and from far, the whole mountain looks blue. The coach driver told us it is cuz of the pollution. Well, when we travelled up to the mountain peak, you can see the three sisters mountain. These mountain have a story behind it, its regarding 3 sisters and a guy. For more information, please loggon to http://www.google.com/ to search for result. * ah bish* In sydney, we only visited the chinatown, opera house and the awesome bridge. Ueeew, So pathetic, but nvm. Last but not least, I want to annouce that i have tried a tandem jump. For those that dont know what is tandem jump, it is like sky diving, and after that a parachute will deploy. I cant believe that i eventually jumped out of the plane at 12,000ft above sea level. Wow! haha. So proud of myself. Yeah, I think i am the first commando storeman to do a tandem jump! *tap my shoulder, good job*

Welcome to Forbes town tourists' information center. This is the backyard of the info center. When the lady in-charge saw me holding a camera and a tripod, she invited me to her backyard, which is so beautiful, snapped a pic there.

This is a plant which very commonly seen in australia but not in singapore. its petals are sharp, if u nvr wear long pant, u will probably get sting!

This is a juvenile padi melon. Also very commonly seen in australia. When it grows up, it will look like a water melon, but the size not larger then a tennis ball. This cannot be consume by human, but birds can.

it's a happy day!! xD dear sounded real relaxed and urself when i called u jus now.. i finally managed to get thru the motel and told the person to put me thru room 20!! xD though ur frends tried to trick me, but still... i've managed to dial correctly le!! xD

today am real happy that u are not ur ~~once-in-a-while~~ harsh self no more.. feel great to be chatting so freely with u.. u know dear, whenever u feel unhappy, ur tone is always DISGUSTINGLY ~~irritating and hurtful~~.. waha.. but when u are back to the obedient dear, ur voice always sound so warm.. wahaha.. u are not sarcastic nor uninterested in my things so i feeling real relieved today!! xD

actually, i can really tell u that ur trip to oz is really a test for our relationship, on my part, at least.. when u left. the first week was still the same for me.. then it started to get a bit exciting cos i could jus look at guys, so freely, perhaps too freely, that it forced me to stop and ponder abt my committment to the relationship.. it was a really tough time for me; i didnt feel that we'd drifted but i also could not help looking at guys, and all these made me feel so vexed cos seriously, i'm enjoying attention but i am also feeling so guilty towards u... i was going thru a tough fight within my heart and mind and i had ~~no one~~ to talk to... i was helpless and lost, and i didnt know how to chat to u on the phone cos i felt i was so downright despicable... really really tough time for me.... but now!! i feel that it's not that scary le, i'm not that excited and hyped up abt the attention ppl are giving me; i'm able to take things in my stride and not be so conscious over this kinda things le.. but u know, i'm jus 17+++++, i STILL get excited over ppl's attention.. haha.. but now it's so much better.. x)

was looking at surrounding ppl and i reallised that ours is also a tough relationship with only weekends to meet.. congrats to us being able to withstand al thick and thin and may we cont this battle together.. :) anw, was observing ppl ard me and realised those couple-couple are so blessed.. i suddenly misses u.. missed the nonsense we shared, the quarrels we had, the cold wars we fought, the goodie food we enjoyed and each other's arms we embraced in...

i seriously wish u were by my side now so we can talk and crap....

i hope when u come back le don always jus mind ur D50 can?? i also nd attention de, not jus ur forums and more forums.. if this persist, i mite really feel neglected and leave u.. :P *take me seriously*

Well, guess by the time u see this blog entry, u've already returned from ur oz trip.. Hope u've enjoyed and learnt much things ok.. :)

surprised surprised surprised to see me blogging for u ba??! wahaha.. haiz, actually i have alot going thru my mind and have alot of things to tell u, but the calls to oz are costing a BOMB, so i always try to cut short our talktime to save the pathetic few cents.. =_=.

do u know i have SO MUCH to tell u?? .. like i told u once on the phone, ur leaving for oz is really a test of our relationship, for me... When i chatted with u on the phone, i could feel that it's ~~nothing~~ to u; ur whole trip is not testing ur commitment for our relatioship cos i can hear from ur voice that u misses me.. i dont know how to put it, but ur going off jus tested how committed i was.. it's difficult to phrase it and really talk about it, but i'm feeling really uncomfortable, uneasy and guilty within..

i wan to clarify that i DID NOT fall for any others when u were away; i am not this kind of person.. But it's really like, i've been "enjoying" attetion from others who jus look at me when i walk around in sch.. Not that anyone did anything, it's jus that u know when i was in sec sch, whenever i go out with ys, ALL the attention were on her.. everywhere we go, guys were looking at her, getting her number, giving her the attention.. she was really popular la --

1) we go lot one shop then happened to see my senior (we were not very close with) with a guy fren.. we tot that guy was our senior's bf but that nite, my senior suddenly sms ys and said that her fren wanted ys de number..

2) we planned to go jurong point so we arranged to meet at the bus stop.. i was late so ys was waitn alone for me at the stop and when i reached there was a guy pestering her for her number..

3) she was walking home alone aft shopping and passed by her void deck.. then a guy asked her for ehr number..

4) she was walking home from the bus stop and a few malay guys ran up to her and said one of their indian frens would like to know her..

Of cos, there are many many more times that she was being noticed.. shall not mentioned le.. i hope dear u can really understand wat i'm going thru.. it's not like i 'bing bian' or wat.. it's jus that i finally also got some 'attention', perhaps that's why it's getting me all hyped-up.. dear i really really need u to understand that it's also not an easy thing for me to go thru.. i am NOT comparing with others watsoever, it's jus all new to me.. i know it's not going to make u feel good but i am NOT falling for anyone, i'm jus being happy for myself to be admired.. truthfully, won u also feel a bit excited when there are girls looking and admiring u? .. dear this is really how i'm feeling now, i talked to my sis abt this also.. she told me that every long term and lasting relationship will go thru things like this.. i wan to declare again that i am NOT comparing.... dear can u try to understand wat i am going thru? it's really also a tough time for me.... pls don always say i am comparing with others, i am NOT.. i am jus lost... i nd directions... is that too much to ask for? .. and i also did NOT fall for others, i'm jus happy for myself and proud of myself to be able to be appreciated and admired... pls dear, don jump to ur own conclusions.... listen to wat my heart is saying....

jus now i called u and u told me that i seemed happy that u weren't by my side now.. i was a bit heart broken, and a bit loss for words.. in truth, which i don know how to tell u then, i was kinda 'happy' that i finally have time to visit my ah ma.. PLS!!! PLS DON SEE IT AS THE WRONG SIGNAL AND JUMP TO UR OWN CONCLUSION AGAIN!!!!! i used to be really really so close with my ah ma, u will nv understand.. really.. she brought me up, taught me how to live my life, and she IS my life.. whenever i tell u this i really dont know if u really can understand wat i've been thru with my ah ma... that time i went to visit her, my ah ma wanted me to stay overnight, she was trying her best effort, but i rej cos i nv bring my cleanser.. then when i wanted to leave already, she insisted to send me off.. before i left, i told her i wanna see her board the lift before i can leave with a peace of mind.. she also very stubborn, insisted that she will see me off.. when i walked ino the road i turned and looked at my ah ma the last time, and i cried.. i was in the dark so she couldn't see.. but from there till i walked to the bus stop, my tears keep flowing.. i know she miss me, and i've let her down... it's really a tough time for me, i'm always very scared that she will jus suddenly leave, i'm scared i didnt spend enough quality time with her, i don wan to think of life w/o her but she's still elderly le, i'm always scared, u know? i am so so so so so tired and lost.. i dont know wat to do... i don wish to be only visiting her when she cant talk to me properly.. i wan to be there for her always...

u also commented that i seemed to be having a good time and am adjustin so fast to life w/o u.. but when u're in singapore, i also go walk walk with sandy and yet wei aft sch ma... u hurt me when u said those things.... i don deny that my not-much-changes-to-life is also very saddening for u... haiz... sorry.. it's not that i'm much better off w/o u, like i said, DON JUMP TO UR OWN CONCLUSIONS!!!!

i am so tired that i wan to die... haha.. i wan to die on my birthday.... haha... i am exhausted.... pls understand my point... i won die de la.... jus tired these days... hope u can know that i am still at the peak of my youth and i jus like to look look only.... shall end le...

Hi all, first post..

Hmmm.. Today went to Bugis with my dear to pray at temple.. Before we went there, we went to the Flea Market for a short walk.. Took a pic of an old lady there..On the way to the temple, i took another pic of a nearby HDB flat.. The colour of the estate there attracted my attention.. Then went to the temple.. We saw a male 'artiste' there, he was performing on his harmonica and wearing diving pants as though he was underwater.. Gave him a dollar after i took three pics of him.. Tough life in singapore..

Well, i'll be leaving for OZ tmr evening for a month.. Hope to get even more nicer and expressive pics at there.. will miss my dear.. Meanwhile, i think my dear might help me to update my blog..
